We were delighted to host guests at an industry breakfast as we explored creating a culture of collaboration with WA Planning Commission Chair Emma Cole and Environmental Protection Authority Chair Darren Walsh.

Emma took the room through the recent reforms that have reshaped the WAPC and demonstrated the need to work together with communities, local government and developers to deliver much needed housing choice.

Darren continued the conversation, unpacking the role of the EPA and how they interact with agencies such as the WAPC and DWER. He underlined the importance of early involvement of the EPA in the planning phase of developments to maximise the ability to deliver housing while protecting the environment through preserving key areas.

Emma and Darren were joined by Anthony Kannis (Director General, DPLH) and Alistair Jones (Director General, DWER) for a informative panel discussion.

Special thanks to our sponsors Construction Training Fund, DevelopmentWA and Western Power for their support of today’s industry breakfast.
