Housing completions in Western Australia are steadily increasing, but still have a long way to go to catch up to the targets set by the federal government. 

Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that 5,769 dwelling were completed in the recent December quarter, and over the entire year 20,457 homes were built. 

This represents a 17 per cent uptick in housing completions between 2023 and 2024. 

The data reflects the fact the state’s homebuilding sector is overcoming supply constraints, with the volume of homes completed exceeding the number of commencements.
