Thousands of hectares of land in Perth have been “sterilised” by environmental and infrastructure constraints, preventing the delivery of 60,000 homes, according to a new report.
The National Housing Pipeline Report, released by UDIA on Tuesday, shows 22 per cent of undeveloped residential land or land zoned for future residential use is fundamentally constrained and unable to be developed.
The report said constraints were due to environmental issues, like protected bushland, or a lack of social, transport or service infrastructure.
